As some of you may know--not long ago I attended training in Louisville, KY at the studios of Martin Allan Hirsch--one of the top decorative/faux painters in the country.

I learned some very cool things that I will soon be offering my services now that I have cashed out some accounts and such to use the money to get myself set up in business.

Getting the camera was one part of that since I intend on setting up a website soon--and need to produce high quality pictures of completed work for my portfolio that I will use to show to decorators/designers and potential customers.

Below are just a few of some of the techniques and wall treatments I now have the skill to produce:

Highvolty!

First of all.....these are stunning looking, congrats!

Secondly, I wish you luck with your enterprise, if you can do all this you'll make it!

I'd love to know how you make the "aged stucco" look and than try it myself. I don't even want to attempt to create the raised stencil, unless it is a stencil I can make myself(?).

I have CNC machinery, but something tells me there is more to it, so the secret of the aged stucco will suffice.

Tell me this secret only, if you (at the end) don't have to kill me :)

Thanks for the kind words yoyo-the fact of the matter is-the secret to what I have done there is in a special line of products only available to those who have been trained in their use since they are proprietary to the decorative painting industry---

the stencil you see is the same material that is on the wall just that it was applied into a standard stencil---then you begin to knock it down in various ways to make it look as though it is very old and somewhat worn away--it is one of those things that you can never exactly do the same thing twice since there are so many variables at play---

the products we use is 100 percent acrylic latex and is very durable--all of these sample boards save one of brick showing through plaster--were done on a plasticized poster board and the stuff can be rolled up and it does not crack--it can be applied indoors or out and looks good for years outside even after years of exposure to the climate and sun---

the products are also non-toxic--something that untill recently was not so when doing faux techniques---most of the stuff the old timers worked with killed them eventually....

Oh WOW! Those are amazing!!!

Next question: Will you be traveling around doing these techniques or will you just be working locally? Since we're moving back to Atlanta in 14 months or so I'd love to redecorate using a few of those techniques.
