Ya know every now and then, usually when I am filling out some form where they ask you your sex, I feel disappointed and let down that there are only two, male nad female listed. I keep thinking as a polymorphic perverse individual, how much fun it would be if there were an indeterminate number of sexes. I for one would love to be able to change my gender at will...anyone have any thoughts (fantesies) on this?

One of the stories in the Neil Gaiman book Smoke And Mirrors (I think that was the title) was about a drug that could cure virtually any disease... but as a side effect, it caused the user to switch gender. :tong: I'd LOVE to be able to do that. I'm quite happy being a man, but I'd love to be able to experience being a woman too.

I think it would be great to switch genders. I don't think I'm ready to give up being a man as I've really come to enjoy being a man. I used to say that sex was not important in who I was attracted to and now I think otherwise. Sex is very important in terms of attraction. There is something specific about the male anatomy that I find hot, and likewise the female anatomy. Gender is important as well though the interaction of gender and sex is often difficult to pin down. I tend to be attracted to masculine men but feminine women, though in more broad terms and not in traditional terms.
And speaking on books on the switching of sex, Tanith Lee's "Death's Master" has a character who can change sex. I found this a fun read and a very intriuging character. I read the book in 1990 when I was coming out and found it quite instrumental in the process. I think I'll read it again this summer! It's very pulpy and oh such delicious fun!

Although the entity wanting the form filled out usually doesn't take this well, I have been known to put the words "yes, please" on the blank where it asks for my sex

I have, on occasion, written in "whenever possible" if the form didn;t involve something critical to my welfare. I have also written "human" when asked for my race. Other time I will use "NOYFB."
Regarding the concept of changing my physical sex, I think that it would be great to change according to my mood (and perhaps partner (s)) at the time. Let's hear it for Polly Morphism!

Years ago, I read a book by Clive Barker (don't recall the title, darn it) and one of the characters was rather fascinating. It was a being that was neither male nor female by nature, but it could subtly change itself to better pleasure it's partner. For instance, when with a man who wanted a woman, the being would alter itself to reveal more feminine qualities. When the same man (yes, he was bi! :) ) wanted to be with a male, the being revealed masculine attributes.
It was yet another great book of his, but that character was so fascinating to me!

Ursula Le guin: Left hand of darkness. Great book!
The characters goes through cycles of 28 days, changing gender for each new cycle (unless they have become pregnant).

I'd change genders in a heart beat for no other reason than to experience the other side. :2cents:
