Can't search for local members??? [Archive]

Am I the only one who's frustrated at not being able to find a local member unless they have an active ad in their profile?

There are more than 5000 pages for the members' list, just don't have the time to go trough them one by one. Does anyone have any tips?

I think that it would fix the problem if we had the ability to sort the location by alphabetical order like we do with the username in the members list page.

@LDD, thanks for answering. Alas, it's not what I'm looking for. :-)

The link that you've provided is only used to search for members' ads. I'm looking for a way to look for members' profiles (with or without an ad) from a certain location (Montreal or other).

Umm Stocky, if they don't have an ad then they probably aren't looking for anyone to contact them. That's why they only show up if they have an ad enabled. Sorry but that's just the way it is.

Well LDD, as long as I've been a member of this sight (I have to admit) I didn't know of this link. I've tried time and time again to do a search here in my local area, but could never figure out how. But I saw no reason to complain as it is a free sight and I appreciate what Drew has to offer, and just figured it was just one thing that the sight didn't have. So I have to say thanks "for the link".

Nah, don't throw in the towel. Keep your ad up, those interested in the area will see your ad. Hang out in forums and in the chat room and from what I've heard there are several LGBT friendly places in Canada, at least that's what has been posted in the forums by some by people up there. @DD, I've got to learn to express myself better, lol. What I meant was that I'm not going to try to search the members list page by page anymore. It took me a pretty long time to find this site and I'm not going anywhere, lol. Thank you very much for caring and to have taken the time to cheer me up. :)

Sometimes that doesn't narrow it down very much. Take New York for example. You have two choices, NYC area, and the rest of the state. For someone like me living towards one of the corners of the state rather than right in the middle, some of the results can still be quite far away, especially if you're looking for a regular buddy rather than a onetime fling. Nothing wrong with a fling, but with the price(s) of gas, it can be an awefully expensive fling.
